I had the LED odometer part of my cluster repaired last year. It had gotten so dim these old eyes could see it. The repair guy said the rest of it looked ok.

Got your seat belt on right? LOL!!

I think my dad did the ~$100 rebuild. I think his is 2003? Haven't heard anything about it since, so I guess it's all good. He's wringing his hands over having to put new tires on it now. He doesn't drive it much since he has a company car, but he'll retire soon and his "free ride" will vanish. So he's trying to brush up the ol' truck.

Bought a couple of Purolator oil filters and some synthetic oil for my next oil change. Walmart put all Purolator oil filters on sale at $2.50 each. Looks like they're getting rid of the brand.

Well nice and sunny today, brought the truck and power washed it, vacuumed it.
Tomorrow , I will bring it up again and pop the hood and give it good cleaning.
going to get a couple cans of paint, for the truck, and redo the hitch.
Had the power washer out, cleaned the bench that sits outside
will have to wait for the sidewalk, had some work done to it need to leave it for a couple of weeks
Had the truck out for a run yesterday. Friends needed a real truck to move some stuff.

Well brought it up again, took a razor and clean up the rad, straighten up the fins
started on the hood sanded it even doing that looks much better. will do more next week, rain for the weekend, plus working
Then up to the store for paint. May get the neighbor to help
This is going to be a cheap paint job. but it will feel better with it cleaned up some.
Plus I am not a car painter. I make it up a I go a long.

Moved the car seat out of the Acadia and into my Ram. It's the truck's turn to tote us around this week!

Paid a $2000.00 bill for replacement of the High pressure oil pump on my truck which left me and the camper in the middle of the road.

Looking at the Ram's for 2016.

I got the state inspection done on my 20 year old big block dually last Saturday. Today, I changed the oil in the rearend for the first time since I've owned the truck. I put full synthetic in there.

Done the 60k transmission service, a bit early at 55k. Was glad to see the pan and magnet clean after 55k. Put in Mopar filters and Mopar synthetic ATF+4, same as factory fill.

Worked it hard yesterday. Pulled my TT from Quartzsite, AZ to Moab, UT, about 550 miles of up and down, mostly up. From 800' elevation, up and down a few times to 8000' elevation, then back down to 4000' elevation here at Moab. It was a 13 hour trip, including a half dozen rest stops.

Oil and transmission temps got much higher than normal, but still within acceptable limits. The highest tran temp I saw was around 190 degrees, oil around 230.

Truck pulled like a champ, although I let it slow down on the big rises, to keep the RPMs maxed at around 3000 RPM. Cruising RPMs hovered around 2200-2400.

Averaged 10.4 MPG for entire trip. Love my HEMI!

Finally got around to putting a shorter radio antenna mast on. No more hitting the garage door going in and out!

Signal reception may be slightly degraded as the new mast is 10" shorter. I tested it out, and received all my normal stations pretty well. I rarely use the FM anyway since I got a year of XM when I bought my truck. It spoiled me, and so I will renew in May when my trial is up.

Only question is whether the new mast will whistle. The OEM mast had a coil going up it for aerodynamics to reduce wind noise. The new one is straight ... We will see...

Installed my 2nd Bak-flip VP cover on the truck since the first one leaked and researched new tires for it. Looking at Michelin Defender LTX M/S in a LT265/60R20 size....... $196 ea.

Made a ramp (2' wide x 7' long) using 1/4" thick plywood clamped to a folded 6' ladder resting on my truck's bumper. Now DW and I can roll our new Champion 3100 generator in and out of the truck bed.
