Now to do the same with the rear bow tie....[/QUOTE]

Or, those circular bone structures protruding from the head of a certain animal of the mountains?

Gave my RAM a good washing, then shammied it off. The RAM told me it wants nothing to do with that carbon fiber stuff. He likes his horns to be nice and shiny.

Exclamation EcoBoost Timing Chain

I had mine at the dealer today for maintenance service and for them to look into why it was making a "rattling" noise on cold starts.

I had done some research after my brother in-law just had trouble with his timing chain (on similar truck). His check engine light came up. Turns out, the "rattle on cold start" is the first symptom that the timing chain is starting to stretch.

Ford is replacing it (almost 2 days of labour!) under the power train warranty. I am lucky, as my brother in-law's was out of warranty when it was discovered. I believe that mine start to exhibit the symptom earlier in its lifetime due to the fact that I tow a trailer all summer, putting it through some extra load.

Just a heads-up to all EcoBoost owners out there! It sounds like the timing chains put on are not to a spec that's required for the turbo engine. Hopefully the newer models are better.

They are nice. But they are expensive. The emissions can be a pain but they are improving this non stop on all manufactures.

I love mine. Just finishing up a 2000 mile trip this week. It was an animal. All around amazing.

Worth every penny. Lowest cost to maintain of any pickup I've owned, and that's with the dealer doing the work.

I had 65k on my first duramax and never had any issue with emissions. DEF is cheap and only needs filled every 5-6k. Dealer usually did it as part of the oil change. Truck burns cleaner than my wife's Honda.

Well, I replaced it...

First looked at this dually last week at a dealership. Trade in was fair and they were about to send this 2013 to auction, so I took the plunge. First rodeo with a dually so I will have some learning to do I reckon.

Using mine to bring the HT in.
Grey water tank is leaking, roof covers have some cracking and other general wear and tear.

It is what it is. Can't undo it now. Luckily the bodyshop is just up the road and will have it fixed in 3-4 days. It looks much worse than it actially is.

Just had the intermediate steering shaft replaced. It was replaced twice under warranty during the first 50,000 miles or so. The last replacement I was told "this is the new design and won't cause anymore issues". Well it lasted 100,000 miles so I guess I'm not unhappy.
