Started installation of the aftermarket backup camera system. Installed.first camera on license plate bracket. 7" monitor is set on top of center of dash above radio. Decided NOT to cut into factory harness at back to wire camera. Power to backup light circuit. Now have to get 18ga wire so I can make a new harness to under hood fuse box so can tap into backup light fuse. Second camera video line will be run with this harness so I can plug TT rear view camera in when hitching up.. a little more.nvolved than I was expecting, but the end result will definately be worth it.

Happy Camping

Got my parts list together in preparation for a front and rear gear swap. Upgrading the factory 3:55 to 4:56's. Freshening up the limited slip, new rear axle bearings and seals while I'm in there. Probably new rear driveshaft U-joints while I'm at it. Gotta get the old 2001 F-150 ready to pull our soon to be 2017 WH 28DSBH which weighs about 1,000 lbs. more than our current trailer.

My new Ram came in today! I drove the Tundra down to look it over and take a quick test drive. Talked to the salesman and he found another $1500 in rebates! WoooHooo! Going to pick it up Thursday. They will be installing the side steps, mud flaps, bed mat and interior liners. The ARE cap will go on as soon as it gets here!

It will be quite a long combo. The PP hitch adds around a foot of length too! Is there a max overall length?

Legally, 65' on state highways. I don't think they enforce it much. But really, I was just joking, that bad boy is a bunch longer than the Tundra.

So, the Tundra is no longer and the new Ram is home. Just waiting on the cap which should be in next week. Loving it already!

I drove it around 40 miles after both the transmission and the turbo had been removed and some rings and gaskets replaced. I believe it's all back together properly and will check this morning to see if any oil dripped on the tarp I put under it last night.

I had a problem with the intermittent wipers on my truck. I replaced the wiper mother, module and transmission assembly. It is such a pleasure to have them back again especially pulling the TT in light rain.

Installed Firestone Airbags and WirelessOne remote

Oh my, that took a while. I did not follow the Airbag instructions and it tripled my install time complete with a leak for a manual system. Broke down and went to the WirelessOne remote compressor setup.

All this = A happy guy!!!

Expedition EL New Tow Mirrors

Going to pick up our TT Friday and thought I had better get some tow mirrors. Started to just get the strap on type but decided to bite the bullet and get these. Got them installed today. Look good and I like the telescoping feature. I should have no trouble seeing around my TT with these.

Can you let me know what mirrors these are? I have an Expedition of similar vintage (2011) and would love to ditch my strap-ons

Could list this under bone head moves but decided to list here. I did something i pray no one else ever does but learned in the process. About 3 weeks ago i was headed for the work at 5.00 in the morning and stopped to fill my truck with diesel. This station is one i have used 100s of times, same pump and when i left the station and got on the expressway the truck started running bad. First thought bad diesel, well within 3 miles i knew i wasnt going to make the 20 mile journey to work so i pulled off the highway and stopped at my shop and parked it. I got out, opened gas lid and smell no lead fuel smell. Needless to say i was not a happy person at this point. Call wife to pick me up and take me to the plant and had truck towed to nearest ford dealer hoping for best but expecting the worst. After 5 days of waiting for the news i got a call it was ready to pick up. 650.00 for a fuel tank clean, fuel filters changed and system purged she fired and ran just fine with no codes or damage to engine that they could tell. I gave it a few weeks before i post but as of now according to engine temps and fuel economy she seems to have weathered the near disastor ok. I still dont believe i put premium no lead in it and even ask for the stations surveilence video to prove i did but they didnt give it to me so i will be fueling elsewhere in the future and looking and smelling very closely from now on. So in closing i am thankful for the blessing that the 6.7 powerstroke didnt disentegrate itself in the 4 miles driven but weary of filling now more than ever. Keep your eyes open when fueling

i tightened the bolts on the lower control arm on the passenger side.whenever i applied the brakes relatively hard there was an audible knock.took some searching to find it but now its all good.should get a wheel alignment or at least get them to check for worn parts
