What did you do to your Tow Vehicle today?

Gave my 2014 a new set of tires. I figured a new trailer needs good tires also. I also installed some truck bed organizers. And washed her. She got spoiled this weekend.

What did you do to your Tow Vehicle today?

Aired up the tires, added a gallon of DEF and fueled up for departure from Top Sail SP tomorrow. Going to drive to Vicksburg, MS and stay the night tomorrow before heading back home. Maybe I'll hit it big at the casino to pay for this last trip and many more future trips!

Gave the Hemi a 600+ mile workout today. Stopped at a rest area east of Glenn's Ferry, ID for some sleep. Second half starts early in the AM.....

Returned my F150 to Tow Vehicle status. The last few days I've been using it as a "work" truck. Been hauling dead branches and stuff from trees that have been cut down, or trimmed back.

Going camping this coming weekend, so now have the truck in "tow mode". I have several of those heavy duty plastic tubs used to mix concrete in to organize stuff in my truck bed. I carry two generators in one box. An extended run gas tank and extra gass in another. Even carry an air compressor and jack in another. I have assorted other stuff and tool in another tub.

I was just thinking about putting some different shock on my TV, maybe some bilstein shocks.

I'm wondering how I can sneak some Bilsteins on my truck too. Truck is brand new but these FX4 shocks are quite bouncy - had to take the FX4 package though b/c the truck had everything else I wanted on it and the dealer was motivated the last day of June.

Not today, but, last months.

Keep in mind the truck just turned 117k miles.

It already has Timbrens (nice fast install, 15min total). But, got the dreaded Turbo engine code. Cleaning didn't help. So, in the process decided to go whole hog. New from the engine back on exhaust side. Manifold, turbo, and exhaust with reprogramming. Not cheap but it really runs well now and gas mileage increased by quite a bit.

Hopefully will be good for another 100k plus miles.

Did you do head studs while you were at it?

Nope. The speed shop that did the work said it wasn't worth it in their opinion. Since mine is now the same as the boss' truck I think they know what they are talking about (his has over 200k now). Mine only has about 50hp increase over stock.

Transmission Cooler on a 2012 Tacoma

ID:	333282012 Tacoma came with a tow package which included a transmission oil cooler. After towing a bit I realized that the cooler wasn't sufficient enough for the 90 deg. + days out West. I purchased and installed a Tru-Cool 4589 which is much larger.

Gave it new front brake rotors. One too many hard stops for deer gave it a shudder.

Oil change (Mobil 1 full synthetic), rotated the Duratracs, new rear pads & rotors, parking brake components cleaned and serviced, new spark plugs gapped to .030" in preparation for performance upgrades going on this week. Can't wait.

Discovered that if back it really close along side the trailer and lift the factory air suspension to the highest setting I can use it as ladder to climb onto the roof of the trailer. The reason for doing this was to tighten down a couple of the bolts holding one of my Maxx Air covers on as they came loose on the 1200 mile drive south we did last week. We are heading north in the morning and I really didn't want to lose the cover on the trip home.......

I'm very surprised that you were recommended to not do studs. History with the 6.7 and any tune doesn't favor that opinion.

I hope it works out for you. You are going love the increase in reliability and performance.

This may seem odd to many here but I installed an 8 1/2 foot Fisher snow plow. I'm unfortunately stuck in New York for at least another 5 years. Last winter was a disaster and as I get older I can't snow blow anymore.

Of course since I went this route, it won't snow again until I move away...

Nothing wrong with that. We have a 8.5' Hiniker and a spreader our 04.5 Ram. Sure beats shoveling.
