On top of the oil leaks it was just time for it to go.

I am crossing my fingers that Ford dealers are better at service, but, that's probably a pipe dream
I'll be interested to hear your feedback on the Ford going forward, specifically the chassis, electrical, etc. Hopefully, it will be excellent for you.

Well, both of my brother-in-laws have Fords. Both are over 100k miles with no problems at all. I think one is 2006 and the other is 2008. Yep, supposed to have issues but they have not.

The Cummins is a fantastic engine, but Dodge has always struggled to build a proper truck around it. They start off great but transmission, corrosion and electrical problems tend to rear their ugly heads in short order.

Congrats on the new truck- For what it’s worth, my 2011 F350 powerstroke is about to turn 210k, still going strong.

My 2010 Ram 3500 6 speed manual transmission truck is awesome. I have right at 200,000 miles on it. It is just getting broke in. It is a crew cab long bed. In my opinion, it is the king of all pick-up trucks.

I have owned a Cummins powered Ram consistently since 1992. And, I would agree with your statement 100%. Once they get some miles on them, the maintenance is rediculous. My biggest problems on the 2 that we own currently (04.5 360K and 07 130K) are electrical, HVAC, and steering (ball joints, front axle u-joints etc). If they weren't both so good mechanically and run so well, they would have been gone a long time ago.

One thing that I will amend from your statement however is that the transmissions have gotten drastically better over the years from the time when they developed their bad reputation. Our 04.5 is nearing 400K on the original 48re and it pushes a plow and slings salt for a living. A little maintenance goes a long way on them. The newer 68rfe is even better. I don't have enough experience with the new Aisin to comment on them however.

Drove it another 150 miles or so to watch a hockey game. On the way home, "change fuel filter(s)" popped up on the screen. Reminds me I need to order the filters and get them changed. Dealer wants $389 to do it! No thanks!

Made the dealer mistake the first time around. Now it’s $70 on Amazon for both filters and about half an hour of my time. Dealer wants about $80 each for the filters

What brand filters? I was looking on Geno's Garage website and they are a little over $100 for Mopar filters.

Here's the link on Amazon. This is where I got my last set of Mopar fuel filters.

I use Geno's Garage for all of my filters etc. They are the same family that owns the Turbo Diesel Register site (www.tdr1.com) and have excellent customer service and are downright just great people.

Exercised it a few miles and will install a six hose kit tomorrow so I don't lose turbo power again. Fortunately I was just three miles from home when one popped off recently. Then an oil change, fluid fill.

Bought the vehicle 6 days ago.

Monday I swapped out to a set of OEM wheels from the chrome, then window tint.

Dropped it off Tuesday for polishing.

Today I went to check on progress from the paint correction shop. I am in LOVE! Such a deep liquid black color. I pick it up tomorrow after the ceramic coating cures.

Check out the difference in the swirls before and after!
