Did a post trip inspection of the kayak rack that I built two weeks ago. It worked great, nice to be able to bring the kayaks along with the TT.

Of course the dealer couldn’t find anything wrong with the truck. It’s something that only happens after hundreds of towing miles. Hard to recreate.

I’m envious. We were just looking at the cool temps out there. Wish I was still there. Have fun.

it will happen again... make sure you write down the mileage you filled and then when you get the message and how much DEF you add... document it.. this is something that is rare in 2019 but it was rampant in 2017-2018... if you have a late 2018 build you might have one that needs a whole new DEF mechanism...

Thanks for the advice. I’m doing just that. I think it’s a February or March ‘19 build.

Trying not to become a victim of this pandemic i caught a three day case of tinkerides. Before I found a cure for it this is what happened to the TV. Lube, oil and filters( oil, air, fuel ). Cap,rotor, module, wires, plugs. Rear brake shoes ( I truly do dislike drum brakes ). Repositioned the auxiliary transmission cooler and installed an auxiliary fan, mounted a toggle switch and indicator light next to the transmission temperature gauge. I finally found a cure for this sickness, drink a bunch of Budweiser beer! I will start this as soon as I am done here! HAPPY 4th Of JULY!!

I puckered when I saw the tread go flying out my side mirror! Gonna risk it and drive home to Dallas (about 5 hours) tomorrow without a spare. Gonna leave early when it’s cooler & keep my speeds down around 62 MPH.

I pulled the gas tank from the front compartment and put a floor down to keep rodents and road spray from coming through the holes in the bottom. Now I have extra storage space! Next up, put some flooring in the cabinet where the 3rd propane tank would have gone for the generator. If anyone has converted this space for storage, I would like to see some pics.

They are the factory crappy Nexens!

Limped home this morning. Left at 3:30 am for cooler temps. About an hour into the drive I pull over to use the restroom and discover that my passenger rear Saliun is shredded and mostly gone! So I looked on the bright side of things and said at least I have a spare tire available the the 5er...not so much for the tuck! Did 50 MPH the whole rest of the way home. So I guess I’ll be tire shopping tomorrow for the rears on the TV and 2 new Saliuns. I don’t know what could have happened to the Saliun or my TPMS for not going off?? I’ll probably get 2 new Saliuns, as I’ve been happy with them until now. I’ll put one of the older Saliuns on a new rim for the spare.

Holy smokes Dan! You’ve had some bad tire mojo!
Get some Michelin tires for the truck. I had a Sailun loose the tread on our way to Arkansas. Same kinda thing with the TPMS. No alert for like 20 seconds after I felt and saw the tread come off. I believe I may have ran over something to cause my problem as I haven’t had any other issues with mine (they’re now approaching 5 years old) so it’s about time for a whole new set due to their age. Treads are still great! Good luck with your tires and be glad you didn’t get a bunch of damage to anything.

What's the name of the rim company that made ours for the NP? I thought I had saved it but can't find it? I was going to order a new rim to get as the spare and get rid of the original Rainer.

DISREGARD! I found it...Treddit

Dan, if you recall I posted that I had a Nexen on the front driver side start to disintegrate on me while during 65 mph. They only had 20,000 miles on them. Replaced all six with Yokohama's. Very happy with them. Also very happy with the Goodyear Endurance.........6,500 miles on them and they look like they just hit the pavement. Glad that you and the family are safe!!
