What Hitch Do You Use?

I am trying to get new hitch ideas. I seem to remember a while back I saw a hitch on here that handled weight distribution, and sway control all in one. The EAZ Lift elite round bar is what I have.

I have an Equlizer that is both a WDH and has sway control built in. I'm very happy with it.

I have a smaller trailer and am using a Fastway E2, the smaller version of the Equalizer E4 (Fastway is the same company as Equalizer). The E4 has 4 points of sway control, the E2 has 2 points of sway control. I just bought this hitch at the beginning of the season and am very happy with it's performance.

Anderson works for me. Lighter than others I’ve used.

Andersen WDH does great for me.

But if you want best advice please post your make and model RV, tow vehicle or specific item (ie furnace brand and model) to get the best and most accurate advice to your specific problem.
Andersen customer service is great, real people who work there and not some person with a computer to look up answers for you from a list of FAQs.

I have a 2017 Hummingbird 17RK. My current vehicle is a 2007 Silverado Classic 4x4 extended cab 5.3l. Soon I will be getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk with 5.7l.

Yep, the Andersen is the way to go with that rig, very easy on and off, lighter, simple to install yourself.
One thing to do is measure the height of the hitch in aero mode in order to order the correct mounting for the car. You will also need the height of the coupler when on level ground to set the ball height in the coupler correctly. But this is needed for any brand hitch you buy. Wish I had the V8. My V6 does the job but would like to have a few extra horsepower to merge onto the interstate and heavy traffic.

As much as I loved the ease of an Andersen WDH, have any of you with one been to a CAT scale to see what they actually do?

If you have a light trailer under 6000 GVWR, you may be okay with it.

I switched to the Resse Steadi-Flex and am satisfied with the decision. YMMV

X2 on a Reese hitch I purchased some 15+ years ago.

Yes, I've been to the scale multiple times with my Andersen hitch and both my F150 and my Ram 2500. No issues moving weight back to the front axle with either truck. 5 rounds on the tension bolts with the Ram, 8 rounds on the F150.

With that said, I am at 800 lb tongue weight with my trailer loaded for travel.

We have an Equalizer also, and it works very well. It was thrown in as part of our TT deal and didn't know it until we went to pick it up. They were setting it up on our truck while we were doing the PDI. I've heard great things about the Anderson hitch also.

I'll put in a good word for the Curt TruTrack. It's the same design as an Equalizer but normally a couple hundred bucks less.

Pro-pride, ( expensive ) got mine second hand, heavy, took Several hours to install,. Just finish a 900 mile trip today, 40 mph cross winds On interstate 10 to junction Texas. The hitch does it’s job, eliminates sway, puts weight back on front axle

Blue Ox SwayPro WDH is another great option. It takes care of sway and weight distribution even on heavy trailers.

I have decided to go with the Anderson WDH. Has anyone else used this one on their Hummingbird? I have a 2017 RK Non Baja and I am trying to get a height from the ground to the top of the A frame up front. I do not live in a very level area, and haven’t had a chance to take it somewhere more level. I need this height to determine whether or not I need regular frame brackets, or raised frame brackets. Apparently if it is less than 18” I need raised frame brackets. The best I can tell for now is it is 19 1/4”. If anyone has this setup which brackets did you use?

Have to go with Ericl-ProPride is expensive but as ad says it eliminates sway, not just controls it. Others running with me really fight cross winds while I hardly notice-worth the money. Know of a used one if you are near Ohio.
