Love towing with mine as well. Wish I had the max tow package, but it wouldn't fit in my garage with the longer box. 11 to 12 is more along the lines of what I was hoping to get.

We have a 23mbh that we tow with a f-150 5.0 l with 3.73 axel ratio. We average around 10 on the interstate and 9.7 on surface roads

We tow a Jay Feather 29Y with a Ford 5.0 with 3.73 axle ratio. Our last (and first!) outing with this combo was 10.8 on the way down and 11.0 on the way back. I am good with this.

Driving 90 miles to RV dealership, we averaged over 22 mpg on our 2013 F150 Ecoboost driving 60-65 mph. Very windy day. Heading home with White Hawk 27DSRL, averaged about 9.9 mpg. Noticed truck rarely got out of 5th gear while going into head wind. Did not use tow/haul mode, as drive was on very flat roads.

Cheers,
Greg

Don't know if I read it somewhere, or if I made it up, but I was thinking the tow/haul mode should be used under certain hilly conditions. But after reading the manual again, it says to use it when towing without specifying any certain conditions in the terrain. So, that's what I'll do. Thanks Bassdog.

First time out with a 2014 White Hawk 28DSBH fully loaded with water. TV 2013 Suburan 1500 and lots of wind and 90 miles of rolling hills and 80 miles of interstate highway got 8.8 MPG both going and returning.

I've heard the same with some vehicles, but again it's so the tranny doesn't constantly hunt for gears on hills. With your Ecoboost the truck just keep it on when towing or you have a heavy load in the bed.

Safe travels.
