920lbs loaded up with full water heater and no bikes on back. 2X 30lb propane tanks and 2X 6V batteries on tongue, fresh tanks empty. With empty water heater and bikes, likely under 900. Using 7 washers in my Equalizer hitch head with 100% front axle load return.

Is it common to see with a fifth wheel no change on the front axle loaded or not on the TV ?

That was the first thing I noticed too and forgot to mention it in my posting. I really don't know but I did notice that the pin sits very close to right over the axle so maybe it isn't that surprising.

I am going to go back through all the postings in this thread and see if anyone else posted axle weights - maybe I have 'one of a kind.'

I am thinking about getting a 29BH (moving up from a White Hawk 27DSRL). Published tongue weight is 730 or so I think. I have an Equalizer E2 WDH rated at 1000/10,000. Would I be OK with this? What all is affecting the TW other that propane tanks, water, etc?

The recommended "loaded" tongue weight for a 29BH (35ft. long, 8,500lb GVWR) would be in the 13% to 15% range of the TT's gross loaded weight. A TT's gross loaded weight is dependent on one's personal cargo loading requirements/habits. IMO a 1,200lb rated WDH would better address potential loaded tongue weight range of the 29BH. Your present 1,000lb rated WDH will work, but you will have to confirm your typical loading requirement. Average 29BH "as shipped" UVW's are around 7,300lbs (yellow sticker).

CAT scale how-to: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...v-tt-3871.html

Feel free to start a new dedicated thread (better JOF visibility/replies) if you have additional WDH, weight, towing, etc., questions about the 29BH or your TV. This thread primarily focuses on loaded "scaled" tongue & pin weights.

Eagle HT 29.5 FBDS Scaled Weight

Overall Total Weight (Truck & Trailer on the scale) 18,340 lb

Truck Only (unhooked from camper W/34 gal fuel) 7,650 lb

Camper Axles (hitched with Truck off the scale) 8,600 lb

Camper Total Weight (calculated) 10,690 lb

Pin Weight (Calculated) 2,090 lb

This is the weight of my rig with 2 full propane bottles, 1 battery, and all my "stuff". I carry pretty much everything I think I need and a little bit more. I did not have my twin Honda 2000I generators on that trip. The combined generator weight is 94 lbs. Hope this helps someone along the way.

Yes its common to have no change to your front axle. The main thing you dont want to see the that front axle weight go down with the trailer. My 2017 GMC crew cab long bed with the NP 377rlbh the front axle stays the same hooked up or unhooked. My 5thwheel is adjustable and it all the way forward so it sits a few inches forward of the back axle. Even with the 5wheel all the way forward the mounting point on the truck is the same. That's why no axle weight change. But anyway it is totally normal. And actually common with a long wheelbase truck.

The published length of a 2017 29RKS is 33' - 9", and same for a 2019 model.

So I weight my rig the other day with about a 3rd of a tank of water (2 40 gallon tanks). Here are the weights in the order I took them.

So I have a 2018 Jayflight 32BHDS, that is moderately loaded. A Reese SteadiFlex 1400 hitch. I used a CAT scale. Estimated about 25 gallons of water. My diesel tank was near full.

1st Weight truck and trailer with WDH bars attached
Steer axle: 4340
Drive axle: 4580
Trailer axle: 7900
Total: 16820

2nd Weight truck and trailer without WDH bars attached (in the bed of the truck)
Steer axle: 3980
Drive axle: 5120
Trailer axle: 7740
Total: 16840

3rd Weight truck only with hitch still on and WDH bars in the bed
Steer axle: 4540
Drive axle: 3160
Total: 7700

Calculated hitch weight: 1400
Calculated trailer weight: 9120

Now my F250 has the 6.0 diesel with the camper package for uprated springs. However the door sticker GVWR is still only 8800 (same as without the package). I am over the GVWR of the truck without my wife or kid in the truck. However I am under on both that axles (by a long way). I also have uprated brakes on my truck from PowerStop (excellent brakes btw for anyone in the market). I should take a picture of the rear springs because with the WDH bars attached I am not even on my helper springs in the rear.

Here is a picture of me on my way to the scales. Note in this picture my fat arse is not in the truck so I am actually about 200 pounds from being overloaded.

jpgale,

Great information, and is a perfect example highlighting a not uncommon "actual" loaded tongue weight condition for a 32BHDS.

It's an eye opener when the "published" dry tongue weight is 895lbs, but your scaled loaded tongue weight is 1,400lbs.

Your GVRW should be under 16,000. I would say your packed at 16,500.
