It's been a year since the last post entry...., feel free to post your "scaled" tongue/pin weights on those new/used FW's and TT's.

2018 Eagle HT 29.5 FBDS Scaled Weight

Overall Total Weight (Truck & Trailer on the scale) 18,340 lb

Camper Axles (hitched with Truck off the scale) 8,600 lb

Truck Only (unhooked from camper W/34 gal fuel) 7,650 lb

Camper Total Weight (calculated) 10,690 lb

Pin Weight (Calculated) 2,090 lb

This is the weight of my rig with 2 full propane bottles, 1 battery, and all my "stuff". I carry pretty much everything I think I need and a little bit more. I did not have my twin Honda 2000I generators on that trip. The combined generator weight is 94 lbs. Hope this helps someone along the way.

* Jayco Model & Year (BOLD type). 2020 Eagle 321RSTS 5th Wheel

* Scaled Tongue Weight or Pin Weight (and scaled gross weight if available). 2460

* Scale Method (CAT Scale, Sherline Scale, Bathroom Scale). CAT Scale

* Brand/Model Hitch. Andersen Ultimate

* Personal Loading Habits (conservative, moderate, heavy). I thought we packed pretty light, but the scale tells me I am closer to what I’d call moderate.

* Added Loading conditions (full fresh water tank, Dual batteries, etc.). All tanks were empty. Two batteries. Propane tanks were full.

Tow vehicle is a 2020 Chevrolet 2500HD.
GVWR - 10650
RAWR - 6600
Payload - 3385

As loaded I have 150lbs of room on the GVWR and 160lbs of room on the RAWR.

* Jayco Model & Year (BOLD type).
2019 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 298BH

* Scaled Tongue Weight or Pin Weight (and scaled gross weight if available).
840 lbs tongue and 6250 gross trailer weight (tongue is 13.4% of trailer weight)

* Scale Method (CAT Scale, Sherline Scale, Bathroom Scale).
CAT Scale

* Brand/Model Hitch.
Equalizer 4-point 1400/14,000lb

* Personal Loading Habits (conservative, moderate, heavy).
I thought conservative to moderate given how much I have in the trailer, but according to this I'm right at my trailer's GVWR. I think I'll tow only a few gallons in the fresh water tank in the future and top off at the campground. That should cut about 300 pounds.

* Added Loading conditions (full fresh water tank, Dual batteries, etc.).
Full 40 gallon fresh water tank, hot water tank full, single 12v battery, 2 full 20 lbs propane bottles, 4-8 gallons in the black tank.

2020 Jayco Pinnacle 32RLTS, fully loaded for a month long trip to the Rockies.

Truck alone with wife, me, full 48 gallon tank, Viair compressor, Bakflip Revolver X2 bed cover, gooseneck ball, and a few other tools (excluding fuel adds about 450 pounds to base weight of truck):
Front axle 5140, rated by Ford at 5600
Rear axle 3620, rated by Ford at 7230
Total 8760, Ford GVWR 12,400

With Pinnacle:
Ford front axle 5180
Ford rear axle 6700
Pinnacle axles 11,620 on 7K axles
Total package weight 23,500

Hitch weight is 3120. The stated hitch weight is 2445 but we added a Splendide washer/dryer, changed the mattress to a heavier memory foam, replaced the MORryde pin box with a Reese Goose Box plus we had a bunch of summer and winter clothes in the closet for whatever weather the Rockies could throw at us.

Just be glad you did not arrive in the Rockies today. Two days from now, you will be good to go

We were supposed to be in Estes Park today. We made it to Goodland, Ks, a pre-planned stop, yesterday before the bad stuff set in. It was 86 when we arrived yesterday afternoon, 38 right now. We delayed our arrival in EP until tomorrow and may push it back to Thursday.

Hi everyone, I have a question on my recently purchased 2017 Jayco 24RBS Jayflight (TV still on order)

Just purchased a "new" Sherline Trailer Tongue Scale.

With full propane tanks, batteries, trailer very close to loaded and 42 gallons of water. my tongue weighs in at 970 LBS.

I need to add the weight of the Weight Distribution Hitch to get a finale number, how much should I add? (read online the weights are betweeen 100 and 200LBS total for the WDH & spring bars?)

I am trying to figure my finale number.

Thanks
Mike

Mike,

You should be plenty covered using 100lbs.

Also, when using the Sherline Scale make sure your slide is retracted....., in many cases it can effect the tongue weight reading on the Sherline.

If you get a chance, preform a 3-pass weigh-in at a CAT Scale. The CAT will confirm all your TV/TT loaded weights, WDH rating/adjustment, and that your tongue weight falls in the 13% to 15% range of your TT's gross weight.

CAT Scale how-to: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...v-tt-3871.html

My 24RBS loaded tongue weight is 1,100lbs (15%) with a gross loaded weight of 7,200lbs (reference Post #2 in this thread).

Bob
