Which drop hitch setting?

Purchased a new drop hitch for my Eaz-Lift Elite. Here are measurements:

24" to top of shank/receiver opening.
22" to top of coupler on camper.
3.25" Ball height

According to instructions for the hitch it states to add 1/16 for each 100lbs of tongue weight to coupler measurement. This would mean I should figure 22" + 5/8".

The Eaz-Lift support guy said to figure 1" above coupler height for assembled ball even with my truck being 3/4 ton.

Pictured is the drop locations for the shank.

Do I go for the 4.5" drop location then?

Be aware that the measurements and suggestions are a starting point. When you are ready to tow (truck and trailer loaded) and all hitched up, the trailer tongue should be level or slightly down. If the tongue is above level or too low (more than 1 1/4" below level), the ball will have to be moved.

Yes. I ended up going to the lowest setting for now. I figured lower is better than too high. Only need to hook up to tow for winter storage so won't have to worry too much until spring.

Thanks for the responses.
