Which Rear Air Shocks to Buy

He guys, I am getting ready to buy rear air shocks for my Dodge 1500 Ram. I am looking for suggestions and recommendations for brands and specs etc. Any and all info is most appreciated. I don't feel I need to add air bags, just the air shocks. Thanks

I use the Air-lift 1000, they slip right in the spring. About one hour labor and you need 2 jacks,. one for the chassis and one for the axle. Just remove the bottom shock bolt, lower, the axle and remove the spring. Slip in the bag and re-install.

The Air-Lift 1000 are air bags not air shocks.

The air shocks don't have the carrying capacity. I had them many years ago. Had air-bags already when they came out for the first time. That's why I brought the message with Air-Lift 1000.

True, but did the OP mean shocks? I mean they work but I've had both shocks and bags and I really think I like the bag route. They're a little more expensive but still let you get a good shock to help with the regular unloaded weight of the vehicle.
If it were me and i was getting shocks I'd go with Gabriel.
If it were me and getting bags I'd go with AirLift.

I run the AirLift 2000 with single pump/gauge in the cab and love it. No need to stop and adjust them, I can load up start my trip and remembering what the PSI was I can drive and adjust if needed. I run 10psi in them when unloaded with Bilstien 5100 shocks and it is as smooth as stock but I do not get the loose feeling on washboard roads/trails.
Check around - I bought mine at www.autoanything.com because they have a 1 year price match guarantee.

If you're looking for shocks look into KYB MONOMAX, I run them on my Dually. They ride extremely well for a 1 ton and handle a load far better than the Bilsteins or Rancho's.
If you're looking for Air bags look into the Air Lift bags.

I just had my front end aligned and asked the mechanic to check the stock shocks. Truck is at 130k and all shocks are still good. I was sure they were going to need replacing.

Norty1; By the moderate and efficient driver shocks and brake shoes will last. I still can use my brake rotors as mirrors...lol.

If you want easy to install, quality support for the back with no end user adjustments or maintenance required and will last the life of the pickup, then SumoSprings is what you want.

https://www.supersprings.com/products/sumosprings/

They make them for front suspension and trailer axles also.
