Sounds like a deal. Our 2012 is pushing 120K and is still going strong. I would suggest following the severe maintenance schedule. I also flush and replace my transmission fluid every 2 towing seasons. My mechanic thinks I'm nuts, but towing can be tough on the tranny.

A wise move. I have the same trailer and used to haul it with a 6 cylinder Santa Fe with towing package that claimed a tow capacity of 3500 lbs. It was "white knuckle" all the way; I got rid of it and bought an extra pickup truck.

One good tip for double checking what your vehicle can do is call the dealership. Tell them you want to add a tow hitch. The computer will give them a "note" as to any additional equipment that would be needed. For example my 2012 T&C would only have required the electrical harness as additional equipment, as in 2012 they used the same radiator, transmission cooler, rear suspension, and brake system on my particular (per the V.I.N.) vehicle as was installed on the "towing equipped" vans of the same year. You don't have to buy anything from them to get this info, most parts professionals are normally willing to help you out. I did it many times as a "parts guy" at a Ford dealership.

Just so everyone knows or for future reference... I didnt get my Traverse in time to pickup my trailer so i did take my Grand Caravan. The trailer was empty but i had the battery and propane tank in the van AND the guy found a battery and propane tank for the trailer that i didnt know of. So with all that and two adults and a child. It towed fine! Brakes worked awesome. The WDH did its job. I would of had no issue pulling it with the van. My grand caravan is a non factory trailer package. I added the hitch, wiring, brake controller, and a trans cooler.

I realized I never wrote back on this... The Traverse pulls amazing! Only issue is trying to find mirrors for it.

I hear ya on the mirrors. I've tried a few. I have one of the CIPA 11905 strap ons that sucks, use it on the passenger side. I use the old fashioned looking CIPA 11650 on the driver's side with the add on convex mirror. It sure is ugly, but you can see for miles behind you, and rock steady (no vibration or wind movement)!

The big convex add-on mirror can be very helpful when backing into a site as it can be positioned for full visibility of the TT wheels and side.

I really should get a second one of the big 11650's for the passenger side too.
