17z Shoe Mess

I'm looking for solutions to fix my problem of the dirty shoes that collect in the main walkway on my 17Z. Last time out was made worse as it was wet and MUDDY. It's also a trip hazard, exp in the middle of the night. There is not too much floor space, but some sort of shoe shelf/rack/holder would be nice to have to de-clutter.

We use a shoe box from Ikea. Works good for kids shoes.

Sometime ago, someone posted a mod using an expanded metal shelf they installed where the trailer entry steps fold in. It did not interfere with the steps and made a protected space that was outside the trailer to put wet/muddy/sandy shoes etc.

Hope that helps.

Rule #1 in our trailer is "Only one pair of shoes each allowed in the trailer". All the rest are stored in a tote bin just outside the door UNDER the trailer.

So far works well. During the day all shoes seem to be left just at the door before entering, at night everyone brings in one pair just in case.

How did you attach these to the wall?

Someone cut out a hatch in the end of a dinette and there is a shove it under the cushion hole.. Survey and see if there is such a space somewhere in back of a facade.

A knitted suspended market bag ( they can be made of cord) would also do the trick..

Wont work for sox...! I see those....

I didn't. It's just freestanding. The weight of the shoes keeps it in place.

They come in a set of 3 boxes. I use one in the RV, the other two are in my house - screwed into the wall next to the entry door.

On our 17z we used the cabinet under the rear bunk, right inside the door, for shoes. The door showing in your picture. There was also still some left for a frisbee and a flashlight for taking the dogs out for their nightly walk.

We use a plastic tote outside the door.
It's under the awning so they stay dry and no shoes inside
