18F axle

Any recommendations on early raising the camper up a few inches? I’ve thought of trying an axle flip, to below the leaf springs. My camper sits too low and scrapes to offer. Tore off a stabilizer jack getting into my driveway.

18f? When those were made Jayco was still using Dexter Torflex axles on the hybrids. Both our 2003 Kiwi 17a and our current X20E have them. They are not leaf springs and cannot be flipped.

They can however be raised on some models. In fact Jayco was offering a 2" lift kit on some of the hybrids for a while.

Some people have made their own lift kits. Search here for "axle lift". Here is one that may be helpful.

Also user Sicario made one and uploaded the plans in his post. You can take and have the parts cut, of course the bolt patter needs to be the same where the axle bolts to the frame.

I had a similar problem with a pop-up I owned and was able to get it to clear the driveway by backing it at an angle and as soon as the first wheel started to rise, straighten the trailer out. Placing some boards where the driveway meets the street to raise the trailer sooner can help too.
