2008 230"outside door won't unlock

EIt has been awhile since e I opened the door but today it won't unlock. I have forgotten the correct position of the key openings.

It is 23b hybrid.

Do you mean the bunk door? 230" is a pretty big door (like almost 20 feet).

On mine the lock cylinders are vertical for locked, horizontal for unlocked. That would be for the bar type cargo latches. I seem to recall that the '08 might have had the T-latches?

My bunk end is often hard to open after a long time locked up. The rubber seal has a tendency to stick to the opening. it just takes a little "English" or a shove from the inside to coax it out.

2008 Jayco Hybrid outside door won't unlock

Bankr63, I appreciate your help but it is the regular outside door, not the bunk end. If there is anything else you can think of, I would appreciate it.

It is a 2008 23B. The keys turn in the cylinders but nothing is connecting inside the cylinder, I guess. Are the keys supposed to be in the horizontal position to open?

The tool to open the bunk end is inside the trailer along with the trailers instruction booklet.

The tool to open the bed door is inside the trailer along with my trailer instruction booklet.

Coachnet will send a locksmith but he charges a minimum $90 to open the door.

On ours, the upper (handle) lock, the key slot is horizontal when locked. The deadbolt is counterclockwise to lock, and clockwise to unlock. Hope this helps on yours.

For our main door, the lower key (latch) turns clockwise to unlock one quarter turn (slot will be horizontal), key pulls out.
For the upper key (deadbolt), the key only goes in vertically. Turn a quarter turn clockwise (to the right) then return to neutral (straight up).
You should be able to feel the cylinders turning however.

If you want to "break in" to your trailer, use a common 12 point socket (will fit the square drive) to unlatch the bunk, drop the bunk, then crawl in through the tenting (should be able to zip both the screen and shade open). You will likely be able to open the door latches from the inside.

Good luck!

My cyclinders are in reverse position but your instructions work.
Thanks for the info on breaking in with a socket. Going to put one in storage area.
The trailer is now open.in addition to having keys in the wrong position I needed to pull harder on the door handle

Thank you so much for your help.
