2011 x18d door holder

Hi ! The new to me x18d have a new door. The first owner had a small accident with the door, and it's been changed. He said that he was having someting to keep the door open, but the garage didn't put the thing back....could it be a kind of cylinder? Does anyone can show me a picture or an image of that?? I bought a plastic hook, but it's does not fit because the awning is to close of the door.

I need to find a way to keep the door open...or i will damage it!

Thank you!. (sorry for my poor english! )

Sorry I don't have a picture, but our door has a gas strut on the bottom that pushes the door out to a right angle from the trailer and holds it there. Might be a dealer has one you can install. Our dealer said that its a $1,000 door, and it scares me whenever it swings open quickly and bangs against the stop. Love our X18D!

Thank you "SteveT" ! I do have a loose gas strut that i find under the sink , but because the door has been changed, there is no longuer balls, or hooks to hold de gas strut... I'll ask my local dealership.

Best of luck. Only had our X18 for about 6 months, but make it to a camp site every month (and booked through Sept). No problems (knock on wood), but will for sure be on the forum if I do. Happy camping
