2017 16XRB Dual Battery Upgrade - Conundrum

Project is to upgrade my single 12v group 27 battery to 2x 6v GC Batteries. The Camco dual battery case is about 1" too short to fit in factory rails (front). This simple project has become a PITA (shocked I am - not). I can mount directly to tongue, but that also means moving the Propane regulator and new hoses. I can look at metal battery storage, or re-welding the rails so they are flush with tongue surface and then also add a dual propane rack. Would love to hear if anyone has any input and recommendations, or insight. I will be nearly exclusively boondocking and Solar will be added, but the battery upgrade is critical.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Check this battery box for two 6-volt GC and see if it will work... it fit mine.

Thats the exact one I got and its about >1" to short for the factory rails. I am thinking you have a 21' and mine is a 16'. Looks like a metal box from Harbor Freight is my best option? https://www.harborfreight.com/231-cu...box-61602.html
I think I can fit my solar controller and a bit more stuff in there, too. Think I need to vent it, though.

Mount some rails up on top of the tongue. Then any length box will fit.
