2018 x19h Canvas Bunk attachment

We got our camper in July this year. The canvas was damaged and they temporally fixed it while they ordered a new whole boot end for the bunk to be replaced. They fixed it a few months back, we have used it a couple times since and when we went to set up our camper this past week at our campsite we saw that it was separating again.
Is this an easy repair? The way they temporally fixed it before was putting screws threw the vinyl strip which caused it to crack further. They did this on the back bunk that they deemed not bad enough to replace. It is still holding, but I have removed the screws and added washer as the screws were going through the strip all together. When they replaced the new one on the front they didn't add any screws. And now the corner is coming off again.
We really don't want to deal with the dealer again (even though it is still under warranty). It's been an ordeal with the dealer since day one.
We live in the DFW area so wondering if there are other Jayco repair places that will honor the Warrenty or is it easy enough to fix myself.

Screws or no screws??

Reading the other posts everyone talks about screws in the vinyl strip. When we bought our camper they temporally fixed it with screws, but when they replaced the boot they didn't. I asked about the screws they told me they are not supposed to be any screws. Reading y'alls posts I question that now. Should there be screws? I so I'm thinking of just doing that and not dealing with the Warrenty hassle again. What do y'all think?

Both of mine cracked where the screws are. Maybe going without is the way but I don't know Jayco's answer.

Ours eventually pulled out like yours. The plastic channel split at the screws. I removed the screws added a washer, and pulled it back together. If I recall correctly, I added a couple more screws, for additional support. Don't over torque them when you drive them in.

soo....noticed this today

so I was out today checking everything after our rainy weather the past couple of days. I was checking the corner that has pulled away and I noticed I could see daylight. Everything is closed up...so...I'm seeing daylight with the bunk locked up. I got ladder to look from the outside and I can actually stick my whole finger inside without opening the bunk. It's seems like this corner is not as lighted up with the seal as the other corner. The other corner I can't even get my finger in the crack around the frame to touch the seal.
This is the same corner that the canvas has pulled away. Makes me wonder it maybe the wind when I pull the camper behind our SUV might caused the canvas to pull away.
Fortunately, I guess the way the wind has been blowing when it rained lately nothing has gone inside. But I can imagine if we were pulling it in the rain or if the wind blew just right it would have water all inside.
I emailed Jayco last night, so when they respond I'll add this to my list of question. Anyone else see this before?

Not good. When closed and latched, you should not see any light. The bunk, should make a tight seal to the wall.

Wow, a 2018 and you're dealing with all these issues?!!! I would livid! I've never had any issues with any of my 3 bunks in my 2013 X18D. Mine all shut very tight. The front one actually sticks shut every time. I have to have someone push it open from the inside while I catch it on the outside.
Good luck on getting things taken care of! I would maybe try another dealer.

I’ve got a few threads about similar issues with this area of my unit that I’ve solved. It seems the plastic and the screws don’t pair well for this application and always ends up with a failure. Search my name for posts and it should have my fix and another where there was a mesh apparatus installed with the screw head to maximum hold.

Fixed for now

So after talking with Jayco they confirmed there should be screws in vinyl strip. However, since the original dealer already fixed it once I have to take it back to them because they could not pay a 2nd dealer to fix the same issue. So I took it back to my dealer and told them with the email from Jayco what needed to be done. After they had it about a month, they replaced the weather strip around from bunk door and fixed the daylight issue. But they did not add any screws. So when we went out to inspect it we had to argue about it. They said it isn't supposed to be there and I said JAYCO said it was. I also pointed out that THEY already put screws in the back so why not now? I also told them they needed to use the washers. I told them I'm not going to keep coming back every 2 or 3 months for them to fix the same thing.
Anyway, they finally did what I told them to do and so far it is holding up. We have used it a couple times since. Actually going this weekend as well.
We are keeping a close eye on it and will be taking it back again if happens again and I will get Jayco on the phone while at the dealer and we will have another discussion if needed. But hopefully it won't go that direction.
