23J Arrived on Friday

After long day to pickup, do PDI, drive home, etc. It's now in the driveway. Spent last night with the wife and kids, good times! One minor battery issue (dealer switched terminal wires, doh!) - got some help over on RV.net.

Now to continue to read forums, figure out what we need/don't need and get some graphic ideas! Oh yea, find time to go camping!

That`s one nice hybrid! Was it cheaper without the decals or did they charge you for the deletion as with some other things?

Looks like they made some nice changes for 2012. They moved up the drawers that are to the left of the sink and deleted the tiny usless cabinet door that was just above.
They added a window above the sink, nice!
They changed the large cabinet beneath the oven to a small drawer, nice as you had to get down on your knees to access the contents of that cabinet. I did a simmilar mod by installing a big deep drawer for pots and pans inside that cabinet.
More pic's please!

With your slide in look between the slide and the bathroom wall and examine all the plumbing, I had a cracked fitting where the kitchen sink drain hose connected to the rest of the drain system. Could you take a picture of that plumbing, maybe they improved it for 2012, be nice to see what they did.

The deletion of graphics from Jayco was no charge, but the addition of graphics on my end will not be free

I would love to share stories, this is ALL new to me! But thanks to forums like these I've learned a ton. Even more than the dealer knew, they do not know the difference between a positive and negative battery terminal :hihi:

Thanks Noel trainer for posting these pictures. Since our 23j is about an hours drive away and we won't be able to see it till April, we can quench our thirst by looking over your pictures till then

Well we ordered our wo even seeing it live! We saw a couple of Roos, a Jayco 23F, etc. But my wife and I knew the extra counter space and a few other thinks made the 23J perfect for us. We thought the chocolate color was too dark (being in FL). So everthing is just perfect. Although my wife does not remember the Roo that we look at (same floorplan) was THIS big. It was almost identical is size, it's just been since Thanksgiving! Hope to get out next weekend and practice backing-up, then maybe the following week go out to a State Park for the weekend!

We have the 23B. First thought is "wow! Look at the space."
Beautiful.
Enjoy!

Nice rig! We liked that model but the long slide out requires a heavier frame that makes the rig too tall to fit through my shop door so we got the 23B which leaves about 4-6" of clearance. Enjoy and let the mods begin!!

Noel trainer.... Was wondering if you would mind getting us a measurement of the width of the wall space above the small counter shelf. We are thinking of putting some word art there and it would help to know the available space. Thanks so much

Thanks inspired the info helps a lot. Good to know that the slide won't be continually rubbing up against the art on the wall. I bought something called wall art which is usually a quote that you peel off a backing and put right on the wall....looks painted on. Mine says "Faith is when you close your eyes and Open your heart" with a fancy little curlicue at the end. Just thought it was a nice way to add Decore without putting holes in the walls. It can supposedly be easily removed at any time.

As a big Avengers fan, I'm thinking Captain America or Iron Man fathead wall art JK. We looked at a used one that had scripts on the wall and it looked pretty nice........

Just been pouring over your pictures and then looking at the limited bits we took of ours when we purchased it (still at dealers till April) and looking at some others on line. There is one difference between yours and ours that I noticed and that is that we have a different wall border. Another thing I noticed is that both our models have cupboards right to the ceiling where some have about a 4 inch space of wall on the slide and some nice wood work surrounding the slide. Must be one of the ways they reduced their weight for 2012 I guess. I also saw that you have black ties hanging down from the main bed. Are they attached to permanently hang there? A question I have for you is. How many drawers are there beside the sink?

One more question is your awning a power or manual one?
