Adding an additional LP tank to 19XUD

Has anyone added a tank to theirs? Mine came with a 20 lb tank, going out this week in some cold temps. First trip and concerned with how long the tank will last with cooking and heating. We are taking a few small space heaters as well. But, I would like to increase my capacity. Anyone talked this before?

Just throw in a 2nd 20lb'er, No need to take #2 on warm weather trips but if it going to be furnace nites, then the back up is nice to have. Pretty easy and quick to swap out an empty.

I've just done this on our 19XUD.

There isn't room on the tongue, as it stands, but I got a two-bottle plate from Amazon, and bolted it across the top of the two side members, where it fits neatly.(If anyone's interested, I can go out and take some pictures.)

This was what I put on:

I didn't fit an auto changeover valve... I prefer to change the hose myself, then I know for sure that one bottle is empty.

Don't forget to recheck your tongue weight, if you do this... you just added quite a few pounds up front.

I found a similar plate. Do you mind to take a few pictures when you have a chance? Our first night lows are in the 30's. I'll probably bring an extra bottle this trip

As promised, pictures. The light was fading, so I apologise for the quality.

I just did this mod to my 19XUD. Used #12 metal self tapping screws to drill two holes, and large washers, and attach the plate. Looking forward to my next trip. Thanks.

Update. You better check your screws on the plate. I didn't use thin screws, but after the first 1.5 hr trip with the plate holding two tanks, one of the screw heads sheared off, possibly due to movement. Maybe it was a bad screw.

Getting the plate welded on today. Just saying.
