Adding padding to bunk ends?

I want to do the mod where you put the interlocking floor pads down on the bunk ends. My question for those that have done it, did you glue/tape or use another type of adhesive to keep the padding permanently? Do you just place them and take them up after each use? Thanks....

If It were mine I would use just a little bit of Velcro to hold it down if it was staying in place when I fold it up. The interlocking pieces by themselves will hold the pieces together.
I didn't use the foam on the bunk ends I only have it on the main floor and absolutely love it.
I bought the 5/8" thick in red oak and it's great on your feet, never cold, very quiet .

A closer look and I have a 21' hybrid and it took me 1 good day to install it perfectly. No butt ends anywhere and cut it with a utility knife and made a template for these odd cuts/pieces. Being foam their easy to fold or bend in place. I also put Mop n Glow on just once (3coats) in the spring.

Tunce...that looks great! What brand flooring is that? I'm looking for a backup plan if I ever get the dreaded soft spots in my floor. Or do this to help strengthen the current floor.

I think the OP was asking about the pads to absorb condensation under the bunk end mattresses, not flooring.

Hi Doc, when he said "permanently" I wasn't thinking absorption of water, my thoughts went to added comfort and warmth.

The main reason I realized what he was asking about is I just read through a resurrected thread on that very subject a few minutes before reading this one. If not for that and the words "bunk ends" in the OP, I would have thought exactly the same as you did.
