Attaching things to thin Walls

Does anyone have any clue how to safely attach heavier items to the flimsy walls of the HTT?

I've used the command sticky things, but those don't hold that much weight and are constantly falling off.

I'd like to install a Shoe Rack like the below:


I'd like to attach it to the flimsy wall, shown in red below:

well it really depends on what you want to attach and how much stress it's going to place on the wall. In the case of the rack you post, I would recommend a backer board on the other side of the wall. Nothing that will get in the way of the drawers but something to increase the overall thickness (and quality) of the wall. You might also consider molly bolts but again having some quality to the wall thickness is a better solution.

When I mounted a TV hangar from under the stereo area, I had to add some supports to the framework inside where the stereo is mounted. Nothing too big but enough to support the frame and TV.
