Awning is slow to open/close

I would like to repair/replace my awning. It’s been very slow to open/close the past year. When it opens/closes the motor/end cap appears to be rotating side to side. I’m thinking this is an indication of damage or something within the mechanism that needs replacing?

Have any of y’all had any experience similar to this?

Mine is SUPER slow too, but I've not observed any damage. I lubricated it, but that didn't help.

Part of me thinks it could be a wiring issue?

It's not bad enough yet for me to go looking for trouble. It does go in/out every time. One day my list will get short enough, or it will get bad enough and I'll fix it.

So I'm curious what you guys find out.
