Awning Question

Ok..I know how 95% of trailer operates...but is it me or does the awning not have anything other than the tension in the spool to hold awning secure while in transit...I know the bars with black knobs holds it somewhat...I have heard of "cradles"..but am I putting it away wrong...back end seems more secure than front....but that's me giving it a good tug

There is a lever/button on each of the rails that lock it in place also, or at least I think they do. I know one of them says the word locked on it.
