Awning Retract

on my X23B I just noticed that the power awning will reverse once extended fully open. So in other words it will open all the way, and if you kept holding the open button it reverses, and starts rolling back up in opposite direction. So I wanted to be sure no one has ever reversed this on me. When I roll up the awning material is on top of the roller. Is this correct? I also notice every time it rains when in storage, I have to open the awning to let it dry out it gets very wet. Any thoughts on the rain water?

Your awning is normal. Don't ask me how all that water gets in the awning, maybe temp changes over night? Seams the newer awnings will reverse warp if you hold the button. I believe one reason for that flappy thing is to protect the material? So the flap should rest against the roller.

I have never tried to over extend the power awning, so i dont know if it designed to do that or what. When the awning is extended, there should be about 6" of material that hangs down to create additional shading,
Printed side up and white side down is how it should always be.
My 16xrb also will hold some rain water when rolled up, so if the camper is not being used every weekend or so i will periodically open up the awning and let it air out to dry.
I think they make awning covers for travel and storage, which is something you may want. But if you Search on here or Google DIY Awning covers you may find some threads where people have used 2 liter bottles to cover the ends, or used vinyl rain gutters to protect their awnings from sun and rain

Moisture will condense and also enter from rain and wick all in the rolled up awning. Best to make sure it's dry before leaving rolled up for long periods and read up on how to clean it because it's basically no way to completely prevent it.
Mine is under a shed and it still has to be dried out and cleaned when needed.

My dealer told us to never overextend it because it could be bad (I forget the details). So we go until the flap folds down to provide that little bit of shade overhang and then stop there...

Normal!

I know people who reverse wrap it when they clean their awning. My kid did reverse wrap ours once when it was new. He was young and did not know better. No damage, no harm, not a big deal. Rerolled correctly.

As for water, that is just normal. Some people swear you can take a 2 litter soda bottle, cut it up and make end cap covers and it will keep your awning dry. I do not worry about it. Once in awhile I will open it up and dry it, but usually I do not care. Just do not stand under it while it opens.

It's actually easy to tell when it is reversed. The switch is marked "in" and "out" If you hit in, and it actually goes out, it is reversed (or the factory installed the wires reversed, but let's not go there). And yes, the material rolls over the top.
