Backup Camera on A17Z

Has anyone hooked up a camera on their X17Z? If so, where did you run the camera wiring?

The X17Z comes prewired for Furrion RV Observation Camera System wireless Monitor. That is what I installed. The wiring is connected to the roof running lights and needs the headlights to be turned on to work.

We installed a back up camera last year at the Mesa Arizon camping world in the heat of the summer. I plugged it all in and had nothing (My wife and I had a nice discussion on why I should not get upset after LOL) We had the driving lights on like we should and the camera wouldn't pair with the screen, So much for plug and play. I went out a few days in the cool morning and took off the camera from the back of the camper and pulled out the connection between the camera and the wiring harness. It turns out that even though Jayco had it installed, the wires were not making a connection at the connector. I redid it all and have not had a problem since. If your having a problem with the camera not turning on, pull the wires thru the little round hole and make sure that the wires are connected, just because the trailer says camera ready, its may not have been checked .

Thanks. Will need to hit something first for my wife to find this in the budget.

Good suggestion. Found that my “Wired for Solar” wiring isn’t hooked up to the battery. At dealer’s today to get the issue figured out as they couldn’t see why no power was wiring at marked location. Really quite frustrating. Like buying a car and them forgetting to include a spare tire.

I bought a $99 wireless camera and monitor and hooked to center clearance light. I have to run parking lights to use camera but it works really well overall. I do experience some interference in heavy retail areas. I have some pics of the install in my registry at https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...17z-52512.html and more in my album. I drilled one hole for the wires and removed a panel held by 3 screws to tap into the wiring for the lights.
