Bath sink stopper won't hold up

Just thought of a solution for bathroom sink drain stopper that won't hold up to prevent a ring or etc. from going down and let water through.

Slip a small rubber gasket ring tightly over bottom of stopper just so that is rests up a little in drain. May work, have to try it???

As far as I know this issue is with 2012 and 2013 models. We just traded in a 2010 17z and had a good stopper that rested up.

I read an old thread here that described filing a groove on the drain fitting that held the drain plug more stable and prevented it from slipping off the stop and closing while you are brushing or something else.

When you want to close it, just lift and rotate it a few degrees and it will drop down and seal.

I worked for me.
