What battery is good now?

For brakes only I would go with the Interstate because of the cost. Interstate and Deka are both excellent batteries. The extra cost of the Deka is worth it if you need it.
If you comapre like batteries, the Deka will be much heavier. The extra weight is lead - not plastic. I prefer Deka for marine applications and use Interstates for RV. You will get good service with either one.
Our battery needs and experience now are like RedHorse1 (above post). I have a Lifeline Group 27 AGM from when we did some dry camping years ago. After 9 years It still charges to 12.7 and holds it's charge, but it would cost about $350 to replace.
