Battery not charging when hooked to tv

Hello, I have a question, does anyone know how to make our tv "hot" so it will charge our camper battery? we dry camped over the weekend and we had'nt camped in 3 weeks and when we got set up and went to open the slide and awning we had a dead battery, so when we checked the plug in on our tv the part that charges was dead...any suggestions?

Also, how does your TV do at towing your X23J, and what WD hitch and
weight size bars are you using?

there is a fuse that goes under the hood. Usually it is in a slot called "stud 1". Take a look at your manual and it should show you. If your truck came with the brake controller harness, it might have the fuse taped to it.

Zoltar, we are using Pro Series 1200 lb. trunion bars and a friction single anti-sway bar, the truck pulls the camper great almost like its not there at times, the gas mileage however sucks compared to pulling the Pup, its 8.5 with the 23j compared to 13 with the 1206. but the new camper is awsome....and so is the truck!

Was the truck running when you tested the plug to see if it was ho? On my truck the key has to be in the running position for the plug to be hot.

tafische, thank you, we checked that out and found the "stud 1" slot and yes it was empty, the manual doesnt state what amp fuse to put in, should it be 30 amp? we are camping in a couple of weeks so we will try it out to see if that does the trick, thanks for the info...

In my Chevy it is rated for 40 amps. Everything you ever wanted to know about your trucks electrical system is right here -- Chevy 2003 and Beyond Electrical

The fuse is a "speciality fuse" -- I used a Bussmann BP/FMX-40 40 Amp Female Maxi Fuse which I got at Amazon.

I recommend getting 2, and also a spare 30 amp for the brake controller power. You never know when you need to throw in a spare. I pinched my tow cable once and blew my fuses out - sure glad I had the spares (and repair crimps,etc) with me!
