Bedding ... sleeping bag OR linens??

Hi all,

Switching from tent camping to an X17Z ... picking it up on Tuesday ... yippee!

We're wondering which way to go for bedding.

What do you use ... sleeping bags? Or do you actually make the bed with sheets and duvet?

Does it all fall down when you fold up the ends ... or do you strike the beds before moving?

Hoping for some advice from the veterans.

Cheers,

--n

Congratulations on the new camper. I prefer using regular bedding. Queen size sheets fit on both bunkends. The front bunk is a true queen, the rear bed is 2 inches shorter. I leave the sheets and a down-alternative blanket on the rear bed. There isn't room to leave more on it. The front bed is another story. It has 1.5 inch memory foam, a padded mattress pad, sheets and a down alternative blanket. I allow the front bed to hang into the box of the trailer. I lengthen the straps that hold the mattress in place.

When we had a hybrid, we tried the sleeping bags, but the sheets, blankets and comforter quickly won over.

Same for us. When we went from tents to pop-up, we tried sleeping bags.

We transitioned to traditional sheets and comforters. Much more comfortable.

Both depending on the weather. In the hot summer months, sheets and light blanket. Fall months, sleeping bags.

I do not like sleeping bags at all so we use sheets and blankets. Even when tenting we take an air bed and use sheets and blankets. Just more comfy

Gotta also go with the sheets! The kids use a bottom sheet, but sleeping bags for a blanket...they think it is more like camping then

Here is a little tip....I walk the bedding isle at target when I am in there....you can find some real deals on marked down sheets sometimes -- especially since you don't really care about the pattern as much. I got some really high quality feel good ones for like $15 that normally go for $50 or $60.

Sleeping bags are for camping. This here is rving. Besides, it's hard to get an electric blanket in a sleeping bag. Hee Hee

Once we moved from a unit where the bed did not have to be taken down each day we started and have not stopped using linens.

Nice to have it ready for a nap at any time.

Never delay a good nap!

Always listen to your wife!

Happy Wife = more days camping. It is a simple, yet effective, formula!

Sheets & blanket. we leave the sheets and a light blanket on the mattress when we fold the bunks. Works fine.

We have an X19H we are using air mattress sheets that fit perfect. Most all sporting goods stores, and Walmart's have them for around $20.00. The top sheet is sewed to the bottom sheet at the foot end.

We use a top sheet over the mattress and sleeping bags. Hubby and I zip ours together for warmth. During the summer we'll probably just use light covers over the sheets. Originally I wanted to do all blankets and linens but it's just too bulky as we have three beds. It's easy to roll the sleeping bags out of the way during the day if someone wants to read or play in the beds.

The kids (3) all have those sleeping bags that you stuff so it's easy to stuff them and put them in a cabinet and we're on our way. I like things minimal in our TT.

You'll have to figure out for yourself what you like. We keep our TT at my mom's so I don't have it near my house. If I did, I might go a different way.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Kim

My camper is on our lot at the current time, so instead of folding the front bed when I close the bunkend I just pull the mattress and all of the bedding out onto the table and the sofa. I put 3 pillows on the sofa to bring it up to the right height.

We do sheets and blankets also,we had a waterbed at our house forever and finally got a regular mattress, anyway.... the queen waterbed sheets work great on the beds and the flat sheet is sewn to the fitted sheet so it keeps it together, then we have a queen super warm fuzzy blanket that I got at Shipshewana Flea Market, and a heavy comforter thats corduroy on one side great for colder weather...were never cold! (we also have the heated bunkend mattress covers) and in summer usually just the sheets are good and maybe the blanket if its cool at night....
