Happened to my brother in law. Yes it can happen. He lost 4 bikes and luckily didn't hurt anybody else.

Yes there is a thread here of a JOF member who was repairing a bumper that ripped off, including pictures of the broken welds. These things can be like easter eggs to find sometimes though. Have to figure the correct search words.

A buddy stores his camper at my place and I saw the broken welds but he caught it when he noticed the bikes happened to be further from the back of the camper than before. He had to come home with the bikes inside that time until they had the bumper welded.
