Bunk end plastic seam failing

We have a 2009 23b. Where the canvas attaches to the tt body is a clear plastic "seam". Not sure if that is the correct term. The plastic seam has torn out of the screw where it was mounted to the tt. This is where the radius is going from horizontal to vertical. The plastic is still firmly attached to the canvas. So we had a gap between the tt and canvas about 2-3" long. When I reattached it there seemed to be to much tension for the repair to last. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

We have a 2008 19h and have the same prob in a couple of spots but not bad enough yet to replace. sorry I dont have any suggestions I thought of putting more screws in but that scares me. Yikes.
