bunk end seals

My bunk end seals work great (no leaks) but starting this year the front bunk seal is sticking when I try to open that end. Nothing looks unusual, the seal is still black and soft with no signs of deterioration. I'm planning to give it a good cleaning this weekend.

Anyone have experience using a conditioner or cleaner on their bunk end seals?

Yes, clean it first. I use Turtle Wax F21 twice a year on the seals, once in spring, once when putting it to bed for the winter. We had our previous hybrid for 10 years and the bed seals were like new when we traded it.

I apply twice a year the same treatment I use on the slide out seal. I do not recall what it is.

Would a light coat of WD-40 (first sprayed on a rag, then wiped onto the seal surface) work?

I prefer to stay away from petroleum distillates, I know they are bad on tires, not sure about the seals.

pure silicone is good.

The best product to use is 303 Rubber Seal Protectant. Many products will make the seal look good but does nothing to condition it, petroleum based products will degrade the seals. I have used this product on the hatch seals on my boat and RV and after many years all the seals look and work like new. Protects against drying and cracking and restores elasticity.
