Cable TV Question

Does anyone know if there is a way to connect to a provided TV cable service at a camp site with a Jayflight Swift 165RB SLX? I have a port inside for an external antenna mounted on my roof but I don't know if there is any way to connect to a TV cable service other than that.

Most trailers have an outside weather tight cable TV connection that looks like this...

On the inside most trailers have a ANTENNA WALL PLATE that will connect your front and bedroom HDTVs to either the CABLE TV input or the OTA ROOF mounted antenna input.

Occasionally I run into some trailer that don't have an outside CABLE TV connection. Do a walk around and see if you have one of those double lid connection boxes on the outside... It will have two TYPE "F" TV connections there.

My off-road POPUP trailer came without TV antenna wiring so I had to add mine...

It should be on the side of the unit so it is easily connected not on the roof. Mine, on a different Jayco is on the same side as the water/sewer hook ups but towards the rear of the RV.

Good Luck.

My trailer (195rb) also didn't have an outside jack, but I added one. As RoyBraddy shows, the inside power supply unit in my case did have an unused connection for an outside jack. I just connected my coax cable from my new outside jack to that connection. Now it works just like most trailers that come with an outside jack.

I do have to say this mod can be tricky because of what's inside the walls. In my case I only had 4" left and right of the inside power supply, 6" below it and lots of room above it. So, if you attempt this, be sure to remove your wall mounted power supply and probe all around it inside the wall. It could be very disappointing to drill a 1" hole in your outside wall only to find you can't get a coax from there to your power supply.

If you would pull this panel oout and see what is connected to the three type F connectors on the bottm.... If you have to run an outside RG cable for the CABLE TV input connection this is where it come from like my diagram above shows... If all three of those "fF" ports have rg cables on them them you must have a CBALE TV input from somewhere on your trailer...

Does this make any sense to you...

As a test you can get a 25-foot RG cable with type "F" connectors on both ends and temp hook this up to a camp ground pedestal cable TV port and see if it works ok...

I think my model is a bare bones model. I looked all around my camper 3 times now and if there is something there I can't find it.
