Canvas Cleaner ???

I'm a newbie and I hoping to get your thoughts on what to clean my tent canvases with. I have some pitch on one from a pine tree I camped under last year. Did not realize this until I popped them open for the first time this year. What is the best thing I can use to remove this without ruining the canvas ???? I am afraid to try just anything, hoping to hear from experience.

I used a hand santizer to get the pitch off my truck, tonneau cover & the canvas/ vinal on our popup. It's only 10% alkahol,so it didn't bother any of the finishes. A little drop, wait a minute, wipe off. It does take time to soften the pitch.
