Chocking Wheels
Hello, I am brand new owner of a x17z and very excited! Sorry for the newbie question but I bought a 10 block set of those yellow levels(lego style). If I put a block under a wheel, are you supposed to chock the wheel (it's a single axle trailer) or does the lego style block act as a chock? Also, if you are supposed to chock it, how do you do that if the wheel is raised off the ground?

The leveling block does not act as a chock. You should still at a minimum chock front and back of the tire on opposite side of the trailer.

You really should always use chocks (or similar), do the blocks you purchased have enough room for chocks? ~CA

You do want to chock the wheels. I sometimes add a block or two infront/behind the wheels so I can chock them. I have also used a larger piece of firewood when on multiple blocks.

Thanks everyone for the good ideas. I will chock the other wheel. The yellow leveling blocks are probably about 1' x 1', so are not big enough to put a chock on. I could try putting three in a row, drive onto the middle one and then that platform should be big enough to put chocks on both sides of the wheel (though would those extra blocks slide away since the wheel is not putting pressure on those extra blocks?).
It is strange that most pics of people using the leveling blocks don't show them with chocks (including the advertising pics).
If you build the leveling blocks into a pyramid like the above pic, do the chocks fit/hold if you try to put them on either side of the wheel?

TBH - I would get an Andersen leveler instead. It does act to chock the wheel, and you don't have to guess how many to stack. Such a pain with legos when you get it wrong and have to roll off and rebuild the design. I did this for several years until we got the Andersens.
Don't worry though, those legos still come in very handy. In very uneven sites you can use them to build a stack under the leveling jack, or create an extra step when the trailer step ends up about 2 feet off the ground (we camp at some pretty wonky sites). Mine still live in the camper, and get regular use for other things. MY chocks also get used on the opposite side to the Andersen.

I also use the Anderson levelers and x chocks. Seen it to many times, wheels not clocked and then the RV moves.

When we need them, I always make sure the tires are on top of at least two each of them, that way I can put chocks on both sides of the tire. Out TT has dual axles, so we carry two full sets of the legos. They come in handy for under the stab jacks too.
That picture is of a motorhome, so chocks aren't always needed. It's in park.

You're right on the stack of the leveling blocks. Stack them bigger than the footprint of the wheel with enough room front and rear for a chock. Like others, for my trailer I use Anderson and X-Chocks between the axles. Axles should be supported regardless. Not a fan of "off the ground" hovering wheels.
