Denver mattress options for hybrid bunks

Have only had our hybrid trailer for a year and already the bed foam is flattening out. Any suggestions for alternative?

After some sleepless nights, we opened ours up and found that they're not really "foam" they're poly-fill, so no real support at all.
Spending much of the afternoon researching mattress-grade foam suppliers.

Aha!! That explains a lot. Wondered why they were so light and flexible. And uncomfortable. Also we had lots of condensation which e mitigated somewhat with self inflating double camp pads.
Thank you for your research and now we will follow your lead and scout out replacements. Foam will be much heavier I suspect so will need to be selective.

So rather than keep replacing the Denver mattress, what is a good alternative for bunk ends? They need to fold and fit properly when closed up.

I don't know we have a 16 Eagle, I swear an air mattress would be a better alternative.Problem in our master we only have 10 inches in height to stuff a mattress! Good Luck

In our old Fleetwood popup the mattresses weren't much for comfort but as you stated they needed to be somewhat flat. We added one of those memory foam mattress toppers to the existing. Ircc they were 2 inches thick and sort of egg crate style. They made a big difference. We got the kind that wasn't in a cloth cover that way we trimmed it to fit and put them underneath the existing one. Not as nice as a good home mattress but they were significantly better. We found them on sale at Kohls or someplace like that. We bought one to see how it worked and were happy enough that we went back and got another one for the other bed. They would compress enough when folding up the trailer that you could still get it closed ok.

I have been thinking about how to change this situation myself. A couple of ideas I had was to take the mattress, or at least the measurements first, to an auto upholstery place and see if they would have something that would fit the thickness of the standard mattress, but be a bit more firm. Another thought was to place those interlocking foam floor tiles under the standard mattress. This would give a little bit of insulation under the sleeping area. Anyone tried one of those options?

Floor tiles on bunkends

We have put the foam-ish floor puzzle tiles on the bottom of our bunkends but not so much for the comfort factor but to try to mitigate any condensation issues. So far, it seems to be successful for the bottom of the mattresses but I don't think it's making much difference on comfort. We're still researching possibilities for a good night's sleep. One possibility is getting quality foam from foambymail.com and making our own cover with the 'hinge'. Can't be worse that what came with the camper!

We purchased a 2" memory foam topper from target on clearance and cut it to the correct size to go on top of our mattress. We've only been able to use it once so far, but it worked pretty well.
