I like to keep set up at a minimum too. It was a learning curve for me as the first few times out in the Z I wasn't all that cognizant of things not moving around, and that made for lots of extra work, cleaning up all the mess of stuff that had moved about the trailer. Now everything is secured and easy to relocate.

Can you put the tube back in the floor mount/plastic? You could unscrew the floor mount from the floor and push the end cap out.

I already unscrewed the floor mount and took it out. Unfortunately, it has a closed bottom. The tube does fit in the plastic end cap and I can use the table, so I guess it's not a major problem. Just the annoyance that it isn't right.

I travel with my folding table up. Not sure if it is recommended or not, but I haven't had an issue yet.

We just bought a used 29bhs, and the table would move and squeak when walking in camper so i just made a small support arm out of an old camping chair and attached it to a screw in the window frame and to the bottom of the table. It doesn't move at all now.

I always bring ours down only because I put all my bedding and other large stuff on top of it. I think it's personal preference.
