Does the refrigerator use any 12v when running on propane?

We are trying to identify ALL of the potential loads that our battery sees when we are dry camping. We know the lights, toilet flushing and the carbon monoxide detector all use 12v. Does the fridge have a temp monitor that stays powered by 12v? We have a X17Z

Yes it does take some 12 volt to call for the lighting circuit for the propane ... I don't know how much or how often though but I do know without 12 volt it wont work

My 10cf fridge draws a constant 12VDC, .50 A for its control circuitry. Lighting the propane will use a bit more but it's very brief so doesn't really count.

Couple more items not on your list. Pump, radio, water heat (gas mode).

Posibly if you have an electric awning, slide out. And tongue jack.

If you really want to know what your power draws are, measure them. A cheap hand held meter is fine; your draws will be small.

Wire the ammeter between the battery and trailer, no shore power. You will get an immediate reading due to the gas detector and radio memory--write it down. Then, turn on your electrical items (lights, furnace, fridge, antenna amplifier, water pump, radio etc.) one at a time and note the change.

You can estimate the number of hours each device will run per day and with a bit of math come up with the number of ampere hours it will take to run your rig.

Excuse my ignorance but you need 12 volts to flush the toilet ? Can you educate me a little

Most have 12vdc for control and indicator lights.

Water heater, A/C, fridge, water pump system all have a 12v brain, so all systems need 12 volts even if being used in "gas only" (fridge and water heater) mode.

On a 17Z, the AC does NOT use 12V.
