DVD player not displaying picture

My 2013 X17Z is not showing anything on my TV when trying to play a DVD in the Jensen AWM955(?). I pulled the unit out of the cabinet, and the back does not have any cables coming out of the RCA connection for Video Output. Has anyone rigged something up to make it work?

No, it's RCA only. I found another post after I posted mine of someone that put their own plate in the bottom of the cabinet to hold the outputs. Thanks.

It appears to be a common issue in 2012-2013 models from what I've seen by googling the issue.

On our 23f all Jayco ran was a one yellow RCA out of the did player over to the tv. So the tv was only used for the picture the sound came out of the speakers in the ceiling inside and/outside depending on what was selected. Though it was pretty basic, it gets the job done but composit video? The hdmi would have been a nicer touch, but we only use the DVD player for the kids when it storming and they are not ready to sleep with big storms coming through. And we had to have our original DVD/stereo replace because it would not play DVDs, something would pop and the DVD would randomly restart. Our dealer replaced the whole unit, so I got the newer model so not it has Bluetooth to stream audio to the stereo.

DVD no playing

Trying pulling unit out and opening up the lid on the unit, they put a screw in it for some reason. Its obvious once you open it up.

Should play after you remove the screw. I had this issue with mine....figured it out with tech on site.

I just purchased my 2013 X18D and I was dismayed when I bought a TV and hooked it up to the cable only to realize the DVD player wasn't playing through that.
I've read that Jayco doesn't hook up the RCA cables to the back of the player and that they usually leave them inside a cabinet near where the TV goes. I don't understand why they don't just hook these up so every trailer is DVD to TV ready? I can only conclude that they want to let the dealers make some money by charging customers to pay to hook these up.
I've read where some people don't like the TV's sound coming through their speakers, especially if their kids have gone to bed. Like them I purchased a separate DVD player so the sound will come from the TV. I plan to hook up a Bluetooth broadcaster to the TV and I have an alarm clock that can receive BT so I will listen to the TV through that.

It just seems wrong that OEM equipment does not have HDMI outputs and is using old RCA composite cables. I wouldn't even think DVD player companies are even making players without HDMI outputs these days.

It makes absolutely no sense that they include a DVD, but not a way to hook a TV up to it. I will never fully understand that. Here's what I did -- I bought an RCA wallplate, and installed it on the underside of the cabinet that houses the DVD player. It's a tidier way than just cutting a hole. I stole this idea from forum member FlyingPenguin, and it works great. Looks like it came from the factory.

One note -- it's rather strange, but the red and white audio jacks, despite being hooked to the back of the DVD player, don't appear to do anything. Like others, there are times when I'd rather the audio came from the TV speakers and not the camper speakers, but that doesn't appear to be an option here and I'm not sure why.
