End Seals

Due to school and family, I have not had the camper out since last fall. I graduate this week, and I started getting everything ready to go in a few weeks. When I went to let the bunk ends down, the seals were stuck and not letting the end drop. I had to tug on it, and on one side, it torn a slice about half the size of a match stick on the outside edge about 1/4 inch long.

Even though I am not using it, I am still washing and cleaning the camper about 4 times a year. I noticed some dirt buildup on the seals after I let them down, and I think the buildup was part of the problem. So this time, I took a rag and put some Mothers VLR cleaner and conditioner on the seals before I put it up.

After wiping everything down, I got a load of black crude and plain dirt off on my rag.

Does anyone else clean and condition their end seals?

Mr. Kong, I'm going to be using good ol' ordinary baby powder on my seals. Some sprays and lubricants can attract dust and dirt.

Check out this video on how to use the baby powder with a sock:

Would the powder not attract moister and end up caking?

I don't think you would need to use much, just enough to see some residue on the seals.
