Enhancing sofa in X23B

Last winter we traveled for a month (four stays of one week each) in our X23B (2015 model). The only complaint from that extended trip is the comfort of the sofa. It's not the most comfortable place for evening sitting (too cold to sit outside).
Do any of you have suggestions for making it more comfortable? (Note that we rarely use it as a sleeper sofa, but with grandkids growing we may be taking them in the future, so having it as a sleeping option is desirable.)
Thanks!

Good luck! The oem sofa is horrible to sleep on.

I've thought about this a few times times. I suspect the best option, find a futon, and modify the frame to sit on the plywood platform.

Same sofa in the X20E, which is a smaller version of the X23B. It wasn't terrible for us to sit on to watch movies at night in crappy weather. We used the ottoman from the dinette to put our feet up. And had a couple of throw pillows to lean on or put behind our backs as needed. Made all the difference in the world. The X23B has pass through storage so doesn't have an ottoman. But as said, it is terrible to sleep on.

There are few options if you want to replace, but price tag will be in around $1k. We considered it seriously but decided to pass. The seat on ours is so 'fluffy' that your butt just sinks down to the springs.

Measure carefully, they tend to come in 3 (fairly) standard sizes.

Shop4Seats.com custom makes theirs and I did get material samples from them to try to match decor. RecPro and Thomas Payne Collection also have replacements that look to have more resilient cushions. Camping World sells them so you might find one to test sit first.

I am in the process of trying to fix the same problem. We stayed in ours for 4 months last year and will again this year. Got to find a solution. $1000 is better than the cost of a new camper. Anyone have any ideas let me know.

I have found a few choices but they aren't cheap. I am going to look at futons too. I really don't need the sleeping space but want a comfortable space to sit and read or watch TV.

I am also concerned with how to lock them down and the heater tube that runs underneath the current coach,

Simple solution to make the seat of the sofa firmer: Cut heavy cardboard to fit between the springs and foam. We had to put it in in 2 pieces to get it slid into place, but it made a huge difference.

The back of the sofa can also be "fluffed up" as well. If the back cushions are like ours, they are separate "pillows" that each have a zipper on them. We used some sheets of thin foam material to re-stuff the pillows until we had the right firmness. worth a try before spending big bucks on a replacement.

Well I spent a good month researching this problem. I have come to the conclusion that changing the sofa would be major remodeling job. The slide out system really limits what can be done. I am going to try and add new foam and recover the seat area. I am also going to create headrest system. Once it is done I will post pictures and comments.
