Equal-i-zer 4-Point Sway Control Hitch

I am looking at buying one of these and wanted some advice as to the correct size. I am towing my xz17 with a Toyota Tacoma.

I bought larger than I needed because if I ever deside to buy a larger TT I won't have to but another hitch. My TT weight is 4,800 lbs. empty so it could top out at 6K and that hitch # was 10k so I bought a 12k hitch for just a few $ more.

I've been happy with my 600/6000 Equalizer for 5 seasons.

I'm using the 10K version. Tongue weight made it close enough to just go with the 10K for me. I'm sure the 6K would be perfect for you.

the RV Dealer recommended that I go with the next size up on mine as well in case I buy a new trailer. I have a Jayco 23j hybrid and believe I bought the 10k bars

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the E4 hitch weight difference is only in the bars, meaning you can buy heavier bars and still use the same components if you upgrade trailers.

I have the E2 800#/8000# version. Call Fastway and ask them what size to get. My X17C (with Nissan Frontier TV) has about 500# TW and they suggested skipping the 600# and moving up to the 800#. Fastway was very helpful. When I called, I had to leave a voicemail and thought "Great, they'll never call me back". Got a call back within 10 minutes!

With the "Equal-i-zer" brand WDH 4-point sway control (some refer to it as an E4) the different rated spring bars are not interchangeable with the original hardware, a new Equal-i-zer brand WDH would have to be purchased. This is the brand WDH the OP is referencing.

The "Fastway" brand "e2" WDH also has different spring bar ratings available, but I'm not sure if they are interchangeable.
