First trip of the year
Went for the first trip of the year to New Melones Reservoir near Angels Camp, CA. My son and daughter in law joined us for the weekend, which was nice, what was not nice, was the weather! We knew we were in trouble when it started snowing between Jamestown and Sonora, only about 1700’ in elevation. We ended up with over 2 inches of rain and winds in the 20 to 30 mph range all night Saturday and temperatures between 35 and 49. Had some leakage around the air conditioner but the Hybrid held up well in the wind. At times it sounded and felt as if we were about to take off Wizard of Oz style. The whole trailer would shake and the fabric on the bunk ends would flap like crazy and make a whole lot of noise. Got a chance to try out our new Yamaha EF2000is generator and it worked like a charm. It was nice to get away for the weekend, but I'll pass on camping in a major winter storm from now on. I guess I’ll check the weather forecasts a little more carefully before the next trip.
