Front end bunk leak
I have a 2017 JayFeather 7. Opened up to get ready for trip and found water in the channel underneath the front bunk. (The area underneath the velcro strip on the inside where the bunk flips out). Nothing else wet, just water sitting in the channel. What would cause this and why wouldn't it have drained out? Don't really see any seal or caulk problems.
thanks for any help

Are you sure you did not have a little bit of the skirt caught between the door and the gasket? I have experienced, if a little skirt caught in that area, you will get a water leak.
If the skirt us caught up high, you will have water accumulating on the roof portion of the bunk canvas. If the corner of the canvas is caught down low, I can have water on the hinge area.
I am now really careful now, when I close up the bunks.

Thank you. I am usually very careful with this. Who knows, I could have missed it last time.

Same issue with 2008 SV19T
I have a leak in that area of my front tip out as well. Even when nothing is in the way, the seal is not activating properly.
The downside of this is significant: when water enters that way (it only enters while traveling), it allows water to leak into the front bunker. You want to avoid this at all costs! Water in the front bunker will seep under the vinyl floor, potentially through the whole unit.
Currently, I take the cousin Eddy route and run a strip of duct tape along the overhang above the seal and affix it to the edge of the bed to keep water out when traveling in rain.
I'm trying to figure out how to repair this properly. The rubber seal is intact without holes, but it's original, so is it worth the time/effort to replace?
The latches that lock the bed in closed position are a little loose, maybe attaching a rubber washer with contact cement between the latch and bed would increase pressure against the bed and push it more closed.
Dan.

By chance have you lost the plastic/rubber pads that go under the latch mechanism, that applies a little extra pressure on the bunk end, when closed up? I lost one, leaked a little, until I glued it back on.

I used Gorilla glue, and they have stayed on.
Dealer used what looks like epoxy.

Use a tiny amount, it expands, something like 10:1 ratio.

Bunk end latch pads
Pardon me for jumping in here....but these pads between the bunk end and the latch, do you know where I can source these? I’m missing half of one on one side and the other side is loose. I’ve been trying to figure out how and what kind of material to use to replicate them, but if someone knows where to find them, I’d really appreciate being able to order replacement parts. Thanks!

Those rubber pads are still in place and firmly attached, but they appear to be compressed from ten years of use. Because of their compression, that's why I'm considering fastening a 1/8" or 3/16" thick rubber washer between the rubber pads and the bed door to give it more pressure for a better seal.

Careful. Too much pressure can crush the seal and allow water in.
