Getting back home routine..

So, what is your routine when you return home from a camping trip? I empty the fridge and all parishables from the cabinets. Take all the bedding out to be washed. Empty the bathroom of all towels. Then, sweep the floors and mop with floor cleaner. Also, wipe out the fridge, wipe down counters, stove, and clean the toilet and sink. Smells all fresh and clean. Am I a going overboard?

It depends on how often you use your unit. We pretty much use our every weekend, so we don't clean out the fridge or cabinets after every trip.

If we are not going out in the next couple of weeks, we pull into the driveway, unload some food and the fridge. We already have our dirty clothes in containers and the clean clothes we are taking in packed in fold-able bags.

After that is unloaded we back it under the shed and put power on it. Usually the fridge is off and we have a de-humidifier running untill we leave again.

My wife cleans before we depart for home and the bed is usually made for the next trip.
We go somewhere every month for a week or so.

Once we hit the driveway, we pretty much immediately begin emptying the camper. Usually food first, then I cut the fridge off. Then all the linens and clothes (all in a basket) go in and at a minimum get added to the weekly laundry. But we don't wash the sheets after every trip; maybe every other trip or every 3 trips (weekenders mostly). We generally keep the counters clean all the time anyway, so we don't usually clean those but once every third or fourth time. Toilet gets wiped down every trip. Once it's empty and the fridge has warmed up, I'll go in and sweep/mop as needed and wipe the fridge down (mainly to mop up the frost melt in the freezer). I usually like to have the bed made and the clean towels hung up in the camper before we store it again, but sometimes it doesn't happen and we put them in next time we get the camper from storage.

We're getting to the point where we want to keep a certain compliment of clothes in the camper permanently to ease our packing burden. We're trying to get to where we can be more spontaneous since we're in a MH now. Once we get to that point, I'll insist that everything be cleaned and put back in the camper before it goes back to storage.

Side note; I'm still calling it "trailer"! Not used to the idea that it's a motorhome yet and I keep finding myself correcting myself, calling it "camper" instead of "trailer"!
