Hello, my wife and just got home from a great weekend with our new x17z. We had such a great time and can't wait to go again. We were wondering if anybody has put a bike rack on the back bumper of the hybrid campers yet.

Welcome! - I have the big sister X20E and I do not believe it is recommended to affix a bike rack to the bumper of the 17Z or X20E (strength issue). It would have to be welded to the frame I believe. I just put the bikes semi laid down in the camper with a couple of blankets over them for now. No problems in 3 years.

I saw a guy a year or so ago that had a bike rack on the back of the 17z but it was a complete bumper replacement. I asked the guy about it and he said he tried it with the original bumper and it just fell apart.
This replacement was about 8 inches wide of 3/16 c-channel not sure how well the frame will hold up to it but the bumper wasn't going to bend.
In general the consensus, due to the exaggerated bounce in the back, is to not do it unless its a fifth wheel.

About the only thing I've seen that may work is the bike carrier that monts to the "A" frame of the trailer. It bolts to the frame. The problem I see with it is, you would have to remove the bike carrier to lower the bunk ends. It is pricey.

Some also store their bikes inside the TT. I don't know how they secure them to keep them from moving and possibly scratching things while the trailer is in motion.

In our X23B, we put a blanket over the couch and lean a bike up against it. I screwed small tie-down loops to the stronger wood under the couch and run bungee cords from the bike to keep it against the couch and not rolling around.

We then bungee additional bikes up against the first one, overlapping them a bit so a tire can rest against the stowed dining table. We use a second blanket to pad between the bikes and protect where the one tire touches the table.

One warning: a kickstand will dig into the floor on these lightweight units. Consequently, we either raise them or move one of the door mats we bring under the stand.
