Holes in Canvas

Hello all! I am new to this forum and we just recently bought our first Jayco camper. We had a coachmen pop up for a few years so we are pretty excited about the upgrade to the 2014 x17Z. When we got home from purchasing our new toy we set it up and noticed their were a few small holes in the canvas on each side. The holes are not all the way trough just on the outer material. I called the dealer and she emailed the pictures I took to Jayco. She just emailed me back and said Jayco recommended that I try VLP sealer and if I don't feel that that is "adequate" then Jayco suggests that the tents be removed and sent back to Jayco for repair. I'm hoping you all can give me some advice. Maybe someone has experienced this problem before? I'm not too keen on trying the VLP because I feel that since it is brand new and we have yet to use it that it needs to be completely replaced. I don't want to use VLP and then find out we have leaks 2 years from now, nor do I want them just to "repair" the holes. How should I go about this?

I'd patch them up for now, then at the end of the camping season have them sent in to Jayco to be fixed. They will most likely replace the damaged area with new material.

Jayco will fix it their way , so after camping is done, leave it the dealers and see what happens. You really don't have a choice.

I bought new x17z, I also found an abrasion/ hole in mine. Bought new last Saturday, got home and found the hole. Immediately sent pictures to factory and the dealer. Waiting to hear back from both.
Let's keep each other posted on this.

I'm sure you were just as disappointed as we were. We found the holes right when we got home and couldn't believe we missed them while at the dealership. I have to let the dealer know what I want to do and I think are are going to use the sealer and then send them off to be repaired in November. Let me know what they send back to you. Thanks!
