How do I figure out what this wire is for under my 2015 X17Z

I have a new to me 2015 x17z about to take it out for the first time. Just was looking under the camper to familiarize myself and found this wire that looks pretty chewed up. It's running between the wheels but I had trouble getting far enough under to figure out where else it runs. Would this be for the electric brakes? Or how do I figure out what it is for?

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

If it runs from one wheel to another on the other side, and blue in color, it's for the electric brakes. By the looks of it, it needs to be replaced and secured.

That wire looks to be replaced by another owner. Usually they are run in a hole in the axle and the wire will come out on the other side to provide power to the brakes on the opposite side.

The wires have a history of wearing thru where they go in or come out of the axle hole and the fix is to just run them on the outside and secure to the rear of the axle to protect from road debris. A water proof splice will help or just tap them where the 2 wires are spliced to the brake assembly.
